To see if a keyword is available, you'll need to try and create it once you’re signed into your account. (Here is how to set up a keyword.)

When you click on Save, the system will let you know if it's not available, and you can try another. Any other information you have entered on this page will remain.

Is There a Quick Way to Check All Reserved Keywords?

We don't have a list like this available. At the moment, you'll need to check your preferred keyword's availability by trying to register it from your account dashboard. If the keyword is already taken, you will get an error message.

How Do I Come Up With a Unique Keyword?

If you are using an industry-specific shared shortcode, it's possible that your preferred keyword may already be reserved.

All is not lost: Here are a couple of quick and easy ways to make the keyword you had in mind unique.

  • Add a memorable number to it. For example, if you want to use the keyword CHURCH, you could add your street address to it. If your address is 1561 John Ave, your keyword could be CHURCH1561. If you are an e-commerce store, you could add an associated percentage discount to your keyword i.e., HELLO10, if you are offering 10% off to people who sign-up to receive your text messages.

  • Add your organization's initials to it. For instance, let’s say that you run a candle company named “Fragrant Scents.” Instead of using a keyword like "CANDLES," which may not be available, you could try “FSCANDLES.”
