At SimpleTexting, we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to spam. 

We are often asked why we don’t allow users to simply upload a list of phone numbers to their campaign. The answer is we prefer to have people add themselves to your list by texting a keyword or otherwise give you express consent to send them messages. We do this because prior express consent is required by law before sending autodialed marketing text messages.

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) requires that before you can send a text message to a mobile phone number, the owner of that mobile phone number must first give you their prior express consent to receive messages in response to a clearly and conspicuously displayed TCPA compliant opt-in disclosure. If you provide a TCPA compliant opt-in disclosure, you’ll receive valid consent to send messages when potential customers respond to these opt-ins by texting your keywords—that keyword they send you functions as their signature showing their consent to the terms you’ve displayed to them around that call to action. Without this opt-in, you can be liable for up to $1,500 in damages for each text message sent without proper consent.

This process protects businesses from compliance violations and protects consumers from unwanted, spammy text messages.
