Want more data on your contacts? Just ask them for it. We'll store it in your account, and you can use it later in custom fields.

Ask and ye shall receive data 💾

So, you’re all set up with your contacts, you’re sending campaigns, and you’ve even started using autoresponders. What’s next?

Data collection!

With SimpleTexting’s data collection app, you can ask your contacts to provide the following information:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email

  • Note

  • Anything else you'd like to ask them for (done via Custom Fields)

The “Note” field is open to pretty much any information you might be interested in—things like a user’s workplace, neighborhood, favorite dessert, or favorite rock ‘n’ roll band.

If you prefer, you can opt to create additional Custom Fields for each piece of information you'd like to collect beyond our default fields above, and name those fields accordingly.

You can create Custom Fields from your Contacts tab. Check out this in-depth article for step-by-step instructions on creating them.

After you use the Data Collection app and collect people's data, SimpleTexting then takes that data and stores it in fields in people's contact profiles, which you can use in any future texts.

For example, if you wanted to personalize a message, you could just drop in the First Name custom field:

“Hey %%firstname%%, did you hear the joke about purple people eaters? Never mind, it’s in bad taste!”
