What Does “Waiting” Mean in the Inbox?

The waiting status lets you know how long ago an incoming message was received.

SimpleTexting is a two-way messaging platform, meaning you can both send and receive text messages.

In order to help you deliver a speedy and satisfactory customer service experience, we automatically keep tabs on how long a message has been sitting in your inbox without a response.

For example, if you saw Waiting 17 minutes next to a message in your inbox, it would mean that a subscriber’s message was sent 17 minutes ago.

You can change the view on your inbox to sort your incoming messages in two different ways.

  1. Newest first

  2. Longest waiting

Note: Incoming messages that are part of an automated flow (like incoming Keyword responses and responses to Data Collection) won't trigger the 'waiting' status.

If you want to let subscribers know your inbox will be unmonitored, you can set up an away message to automatically respond to all incoming texts.
